I'd be surprised if Lawson and Ellington stay in the draft. I don't think either is going to be drafted high enough to make it worthwhile. But you never know..

Hansbrogh would have been drafted much higher than either Lawson or Ellington. Odds are decent that both will return next year. Lawson has no jumpshot and that will hurt him. Ellington needs another year to put some polish on his game.

Big mistake on their part. Neither are as polished as Jamison and Carter and they were juniors. They are nowhere near the level of Stackhouse and Wallace as sophs. I think Lawson has unbelievable upside and I can see him getting picked high. Ellington really has a ceiling. He could stay, but I'm not sure how much better he'll be. I understand. I would bail too for 20 million dollars.

I expect Lawson back. I THINK Ellington will be back too, but he's got the skill set to blow up at the draft camp and really boost his stock. If that were to happen, he'll have a shot to go.

FWIW its never a mistake to test the waters. Without hiring an agent they aren't hurting themselves.

I think they could survive if Ellington left with what's coming in but losing Lawson would suck

I had a friend ( a big time Carolina fan at that) tell me today that if Lawson does indeed go that he will be the next William Avery.

Did dancing Danny really declare or just a joke? Lawson is much quicker than Avery was, and I can't think of that many PG's in the draft better than Lawson unless there's some Eurotrash we don't know about. Rose and Augustin are both better but they are top 10 picks. If Lawson declares I bet the Bobcats take him with the 8th pick so they can have Felton and lawson play at the same time and blow the season again. Them coming back all depends upon how much cash Roy Williams can throw out to Ellington and lawson to get them to stay. If they both come back I don't see how they wouldn't win the national title. If they both come back and UNC doesn't win the title it would be even worse than that 99 Duke team not winning it all.

Danny really declared but won't hire an agent.
Rumors are that his family is hurting because of his dad's stint in the pokey. I hope they all 3 do increase their stock by testing the waters and they jump over some of the so-so guys from Mempiss...
If they don't get pretty solid commitments of going in the first round, I expect they'll be back.
