I respect Bobby Reid as a player and as a human being. I don't know if I could have held my tongue like him.

 

Are you serious?! This, to me, is a situation of a player being told how great they are their entire life then getting to the big time and being shown they aren't that special, yet they expect everyone to believe they still are. The truth is in the numbers. Robinson is a better quarterback for Oklahoma State. Does he have more ability? I can't answer that. But just looking at the stats it shows he outplayed this kid, and now he's bitching about it. Another excuse. Keep an eye on this kid and see where he ends up. For his sake, hopefully he will make it big. But I'm willing to bet this isn't the last time we'll hear something negative out of him.

And to say the coach did that and it was fake. Give me a break. I liked how Gundy stood up for what he believed, he put the reporter in her place and that's all that should be said. This kids just disappointed that someone strolled into campus and took his job and he didn't want to work to get it back. Simple as that.

 

Agreed. Also notice how one of the things that got the OSU coaches upset was the fact that they felt his mom was a concern, and she is quoted several times in the article, to quote another great coaching tirade HELLO!. I also loved the characterization of mike gundy as an overcaffeinated weirdo who schemes ways to offend his players via carefully orchestrated rants.

 

If the reporter was correct about Reid, then why would she need to be "put in her place"?

 

She wasn't. The article was a total hack job and the reporter deserved to be fired for incompetence. I think the point was just that Gundy was disingenuous in acting like he was Reid's best buddy.
