No, people just remember Fingleton every time Chapel Hill signs a seven footer. It's probably not a fair comparison in this case, but lots of people associated7 footer with Fingleton when talking about Chapel Hill.

'Lots of people', meaning people on this little board?

    How about Eric Montross?
    Rasheed Wallace? (6'11 1/2")
    Kevin Salvadori?
    Brendan Haywood?
    Even Serge Zwikker?
    Even Matt Wenstrom?

People remember what they want to remember. UNC had one guy named Fingleton, and that's what haters want to remember. That's fine.
I guess I could bring up Shav or McBob or other tools that other schools have had that ended up being useless, but I won't. It's too early to tell on this kid, but he's done some pretty good things in high school thus far.

Hey, Shav and McBob both got drafted, I know Wenstrom and Salvadori played a couple of years in the NBA, but I'd say they were all about equal. Hell, Shav and McBob probably both put up better numbers than Wenstrom or Salvadori in college.

If we're talking true white stiffs at dook, lets go with Erik Meek and that Palmer kid who transferred to Vermont or whatever.

Shav and McBob started. Salvadori and Wenstrom didn't.
They still added solid minutes off the bench, though. Won a NC IIRC....

Yeah, I was going to add that obviously their roles were different.

Of course, both were 'good enough' to go to the NBA early, so bringing them up in a discussion of huge white busts is a little disingenuous.

Guessing he chooses to actually talk about basketball even if in context of a rivalry?

That's why I'm here. Look back over my threads. I've said that. I haven't hidden the fact that I'm here to slam dook every chance I get.

One does not slam a team that one does not fear.
