    Totally stumbled on this brand new release, and it's pretty damn good:

    Laura Marling - "Tap at My Window"

    Amazingly, she's only 18. That's a pretty mature sound for that age.

    Okay, she has one helluva sweet voice, and she's cute as hell. How about some original material? That's all she's missing.

    LOL, she played Fake Plastic Trees in G Major. Sounds weird.

    And oh god, this is bad. Chords are all wrong, and she is another in a long line of singers that think that song is about singing softly. Ugh. That's not it at all. It's a great litmus test though. Lotta pros can't sing it either. (here's how it should sound)

    Her Waiting for Superman Cover is very solid.

    I don't hear Cat Power at all. She is Hope Sandoval from Mazzy Star, but lighter voiced.
