Kind of defeats the whole point of student athletes being amateur athletes doesn't it?

Times change. Is the NCAA out to educate athletes or exploit them?

I guess I'd rather see a Ricky Sanchez in college after busting in the NBDL than barnstorming wherever he is.

True, but that will change everything. I'd rather not have professionals mixing with amateurs but that's JMO.

I'd rather that too, I was just throwing out another 'solution.'

I hope they can get this 2 year deal passed, 2 years in NBDL or 2 years in NCAA, seems like a good compromise for both the NBA and NCAA in my opinion.

Kobe's first couple of years he was on the bench as much as he was on the floor with only 7 total starts. He didn't even play in 80 games during the regular season until 6 years in.

Teams drafting high school players or players without 3 to 4 years of college experience is one of, if not "the", main reason that the NBA became the National Garbage League.

Your quantitative evidence of this is...

Hey, if you don't think the "NBA" is absolute total garbage, then more power to you.

It's like watching two people play a video game, run up and down the floor chuck up shots with little to no defense. Very similar to high school all star games. Garbage.

No quantitative evidence, just observation. A lot of flash and very little substance. Only a handful of teams play good defense and those end up being the ones that have a legitimate shot at winning the garbage championship. The run of the mill "NBA" player can't even win ball games against other countries in international play.

But hey, they can sure jump out of a gym and play one-on-one facing the basket. Too bad that doesn't get it done against teams that play good team ball with solid defense.

If that doesn't signal that there has been a major shift in the "NBA" I don't know what would. Had we had the same caliber players 15-20 years ago, just run of the mill, not "Dream Team" level players, they would have still been able to get it done and win. A vast majority of players at that point had at least three years of experience at the college level if not four years.

I am going to stop now because I could go on and I really can't believe I just wasted this much time talking about garbage.

So your idea of quality basketball is the Knicks/Heat slugfests of the late 90s and early 2000's?
