See the lawyers getting involved with this one. Great for college bball but can't see them not letting a player earn his millions if he's ready.

Good, this is what they should have done in the first place. 2 years in NCAA or 2 years in D-League for minimum wage. Plenty of 18 year olds live off of minimum wage, they can do it for two years if they decide the college life isn't for them.

One year in college doesn't really address the problem on either side, and it was a half-assed attempt at fixing it.

This is great news. I'm sick of the Niners losing all their players to the draft after 1 year.

Yea, I laffed also. I would be nice for the Durants and the Beaselys to hang around an extra year but I think the NCAA was lucky to get one year, two years may be where the Players Association and the lawyers draw a line in the sand. If a guy is ready, why deny him his millions?

Why would the Players Union oppose this? The young kids are taking their jobs. I don't think it's cut and dry that the PU would automatically oppose this, although obviously it's a huge bargaining chip.

I think 2 years is perfect. 1 was a start, but really wasn't enough.

I dunno, but the articled mentioned it specifically so I was thinking it may be a stumbling block. The lawyers will play a bigger role though.

I agree, from a fans prospective. But, I can see these guys wanting to take the money when it's available also, especially if a team is all set to give them the bank. I know I'd be mad if someone said I couldn't go for it, IF I was ready and someone was basically forcing millions down my throat.

it shouldn't be available. too many are washing out as straight from high school NBA players. Yes there are exceptions, but the majority is. This would prevent that.
