There wasn't a ton of hype going into this year's class, and now I see why...

I watched a couple of Jennings games at Oak Hill this year and I watched him tonight. Lets take the bun away from the hot dog (so to speak) and see if he's really as good as advertised?

Samuels and Monroe didn't impress me at all. Samuels looked really bad. Jrue Holliday looked pretty good. Larry Drew will be a solid guard at Carolina, more the distributer than the scorer. Zeller needs to patrionize his sponsor a bit more and maybe even Super Size on most trips. Ed Davis was the most impressive big guy IMO.

Spot on. Good analysis and by a non-Tar Heel fan at that.

Zeller looks good running the floor, but I thing he'll be a sophmore and maybe a junior before he can legitimately help. I know its because he's had another growth spurt lately that he can't put on the weight yet, but that'll be a MUST before he can be a real "player" for UNC.

Drew need to work on the scoring aspect as was said. What's weird is he won the 3point contest, so he has the ability. I just don't think he knows how to create for himself yet. But he does make others look good. And Davis while he too needs to put on weight, may already be better than Thompson. Kid just seems to have a nose for the ball. Loose ball, rebound, whatever anywhere he's near it.

    Thanks...

I saw Larry Drew play at the Glaxo back in December. He definintely is a pass-first, shoot-second type of point guard. Like you stated it was kinda weird that he won the 3-point contest. That may be more because that type of shooting contest consists of a set shot instead of shooting in motion. I can only think of one long-range shot Drew hit last night in the actual game.

Well one thing, like one of the announcers talked about, it's really hard to know how good most of the big guys are, since this is more of a PG,SG,SF type game, not a lot of passing to the low post.

Davis looked good in the game. I am sure he will put on a few pounds before the season starts next year.

Drew, looked better than I thought he would, I don't mind a PG who is a PG first as long as he can hit his shot when needed. Hopefully he can be consistant with that.

Zeller, does what he can do well, but like you said, he needs weight to be any kind of factor. He needs to gain 20lbs yesterday, just to make stick status.

I watched a few minutes of the game. Not sure how anyone could get an idea of how good someone will be from this game. Basically street ball. Dont think I even saw a pass.

then you didn't watch the game. Most years I'd agree. This year the big thing seemed to be picking up large numbers of assists.
