I just dont understand the "tired" legs argument....No starter was averaging more than 35min/game.....back in the Redick years he would play 40........As one UNCbandwagoner said....i trick pony.....it worked well for them early but not having a post presence was the difference.....oh well 28-6 is not a bad year...and when its Duke or UNC the only satisfaction is a National Championship....

 

I have a lot of respect for Coach K but I think he is being stubborn and it's hurting Duke Basketball. The arugment about recruiting some athletes is sound IMO. He is too reluctant to have his team play zone defense when their personel is not suited to be a good man to man team. Duke is never going to be a factor in March again until Coach K starts getting some better defensive players. The last 10 games of the season every team beat them to death driving to the basket.

A zone would have kept all those drives to basket from happening. The 3's don't fall all the time, Dook is evidence of that.

Very little driving by WV....they are a shooting team that crashes the boards... They play Big East ball and Duke didnt match it...they bumped players off their spots and play physical....they crash the boards Duke didnt do that.....throw in Duke only making 5 of 50 3pters and thats the game.....WV is a 3pt shooting team just like Duke...today they got hot just as they did against Ariz.....

8 guys played at least 12 min for Duke, WV had 1 play 40 and 2 play over 30....

and wth do his assistants do? during the game you see Dawkins and Wojo beside him stone faced and silent. During timeouts wojo and collins yell "come on!" and "lets go!". That seems to be their contribution.

and speaking of - what the hell is going to happen when K retires? I guess Dawkins gets the job by default since he has the most tenure. But does dook really want to turn the reigns over to somebody with ZERO head coaching experience? And would Dawkins be stupid enough to keep wojo and collins as his assistants?

They all three must be losers since you never hear any talk of any of them getting offers to be head coaches anywhere. Wondering about that part of the future can't leave the dookies with any warm and fuzzies

 

WV didn't live or die by the 3pter today though. They only shot 4-11 as compared to dook who was 5-22. WV did their damage inside as Wise One stated.

 

you're a dumb fuck.....Wojo was a finalist for the Colorado job last year and almost took it.

If you ever watch a Duke game closely, youll see that the Asst. do quite a bit of coaching during time outs....to give K time to chat with the refs.


But again i dont expect you to make any coherent or educated post since you can't get degrees at wal mart, only UNC garb.

 

Not saying they did, I am just saying had Duke dropped to a zone in the 2nd half WV would have lit them up more....they were 0-5 in the first half so they went 4-6 in the 2nd half shooting 3s.
