Why would you think that after hearing they want a big back and went out and signed a 235 lb FA that that's not what they were thinking about?

Besides the relative lack of believability that people are feeding you information on a draft that's 6 weeks away, it's just that he said they don't necessarily care if the player is big or not.

I don't want you to stop posting or anything, far from. But people don't just randomly drop in, dump off a 'source', then call it stirring the pot, and then go off again for a week. I dunno - and past that, anything that the org would just drop off-hand like "we want a big back", isn't the info I'd take to the bank.

I agree he is a good back but people are talking about him going in the later portion of round 1 which would be way to high.
RB's classically get pushed down the draft board and I imagine we will see that again this year.
But I thought our 2nd round pick would be a little too high for him, so 1st round range is absurd.
    I wouldn't mind a 3rd rounder

Jamaal Charles is also a guy who hasn't gotten a whole lot of pub who was pretty productive. Has good burst and good top end speed.

No one has been specific about how said big back would be aquired, the individual I sopoke to or subsequently myself.

I do not reference the draft in the quote you grabbed or anywhere else.

Lets not make this a bigger issue than it is, I am on your side and I am not Collin

Why don't you think Toefield filled their desire for bigger RB?

I can see us taking a FB and a speedy guy, after we've addressed the fronts. That's a big back and a playmaker type.

If we aren't done trying to find a playmaker there's nowhere else for that guy to fit on the team except RB.

i agree that they still might add another back. i would be surprised if it is in the first 3 rounds though.
i really believe, and have said several times, that they are going to go lines with the first couple of picks. it would not surprise me if the first 4 picks are ol and dl guys.
that said, if the run on those guys happens like the run happened last year on safety, it would not surprise me if they do go bpa and take a rb at some point.
we also seem to be forgetting that there is still an awful lot of time between now and the 1st game of the season.
more veterans are going to be released, still time for more trades, more time to sign other free agents.
this is an important draft for us but it isn't like it is the end of the world if we don't get an ot or a de out of it. i seem to remember we have guys on the squad that we drafted last year and the year before that could come in and play some of these positions that we keep saying are key. we don't have to hit a homerun in the draft. we were 7-9 not 1-15. it isn't like we have to draft a whole new team. there are other ways to improve a team.
