VT was 9-7 in the ACC and lost to both Duke and UNC (UNC by 40) they had the easiest ACC schedule this year vs. Duke and @UNC.....they had some bad OOC losses VCU (1 other).....they finished the season 6 games above .500 19-13.....to me they did not deserve it.

UK went 12-4 in the SEC.

9-7 in the ACC this year is better than 12-4 in the SEC this year. Remember, we're talking about hoops, not football. VT took the #1 team in the country to the wire on Saturday, and if Hansbrough misses that jumper, they could have beaten them in OT.

I know there are some if's in there, but over 500 in the toughest RPI conference in the country should have mattered more, especially with UK's horrendous losses. VCU was a bubble team--if that's a bad loss, its a mildly bad one. Wasn't that at VCU as well (for VT)? Seth and Co. got hosed.

Watching people try to justify UK versus VaTech, two shit teams that dont deserve to sniff a bid, is exactly what's wrong with this tournament.

So is setting all the mid majors against one another in round one to eliminate them ASAP.

And so is Billy "Fudge Sr" Packer's annual whine about his beloved ACC never getting the entire conference in, even when they usually dont deserve the bids they do get.

Im not gonna say the committee did a horrible job, because I agree with Vitale, but some of these teams are an absolute fucking joke, starting with Kentucky, Villanova, AZ and Oregon. They all suck balls.

Here's a nice little factoid for you: The big East got 8 fucking bids. Guess how many top 50 non conference wins (home or away) the entire 16 team league got this year?

    Answer:

    7

Xavier, from the A10, got four by themselves. Dayton had a couple, hell Charlotte had 2. Nova lost to fucking UNC-R, lost to St Joes by 22 just a few weeks ago, and Syracuse lost to all but 1 A10 team they played. Oh yeah, and Dayton beat UL and CLOBBERED Pitt.

    Eight bids.

PS - Georgetown's BEST non conference win was over #91 American. Think I'm lying? check. Theyre not alone. A buncha NCAA teams are just as bad - load up on home games versus patsies in non-conf. and then cry about going 8-8 or 9-7 in your "hard league".

The selection process is a joke.

    VPI is #52 in RPI.

    1-7 record against top 50.

    Losses to
    #157 Penn State
    #129 Old Dominion
    #120 Richmond

    Dayton #32 in RPI

4-4 record against top 50 has more of a beef than VPI.

I didn't think they did that bad of a job. Oregon as a 9 though is a joke. I didn't think they'd even get in. Va. Tech didn't beat anyone really. Miami in the 1st round of the ACC tourney was their only good win.

Too bad UNCC lost to Monmouth, Hofstra and Richmond twice.

that just proves the SEC was pretty damn good this year. Just about every team could have won.

I don't mind that the BE got 8 teams this year. I do mind that I'll have to hear about it from grid for the next 3 weeks (and probably until next March). :bigcry:
