Lenny Dykstra....

Anybody seen the HBO Real Sports interview with Dykstra? Did something happen to the man? He can barely talk and looks bad. Evidently, he's some sort of self taught financial genius and has made millions in the car wash industry through investing. I liked him back in the day but was a bit startled by the interview. Oh yea, he denied the steriod abuse, then said he lied to the reporter when he said he didn't take the roids and then said he lied about the lie about taking the roids. I dunno.

 

Haven't seen the interview, would like to though. He was one of my favorite players, just because he went all out effort on every play or hit.

If I were to guess, I would say he did use steroids from what I have read on the net, and looking at pictures of him over his career. If that is truly the case, that could be a lot of his problems.

 

Always liked him as a player. He had the dirtiest uniform in the majors. He was a slob with a chew too. Andy Van Slyke who was playing CF with the Pirates and later the Cards in those days said he hated to play opposite him because he spit everywhere in the outfield. Van Slyke quipped that he was afraid he would get foot cancer from walking in that spit.
