You are right, Ty wasn't a huge factor tonight by any means, but you have to think back the game against dook in chapel hill was the first game without him. It mattered a lot for that game.

The team learned how to play the game differently without him since then. Seriously even tonights UNC team played differently, was more of a halfcourt offense and breaks only on steals. The interior defense for UNC was the best it's been all season, but it's really hard to measure that against a weak inside team like dook.

i really don't believe that. i think duke took advantage of unc's collapsing defense in that first game. they couldn't hit shit tonight until the second half and actually got to running with carolina and did better then. they blew it when they tried to slow it down which would neutralize the advantage that ty lawson brings.

it all came down to ellington and green and you guys will be hurting way more if one of those two goes down than compared to lawson.

to me lawson is and always will be a huge copout excuse for that first game.

No question our lack of D and missing shots were a factor. The missing shots can't certainly be attributed to Lawson not being in the game. The offense will have a completely different flow, whether it's fast paced and running or half court.

How many TO's did UNC have that first game? A lot of that was from bad passing or passing to players and putting them in bad situations.

If you honestly think your first game missing one of the better PGs in the ACC/Nation doesn't make a diffference, well, just glad you are a dook fan.

I am guessing you think the Panthers not having Jake Delhomme shouldn't make any difference either.

it makes a difference. but i didn't see why it made that much of a difference tonight. that was an excuse plain and simple. he didn't bring that much tonight and green and ellington did and that's why carowhina won.

i'm telling you that the dropoff is bigger if you lose ellington or green as compared to lawson.

although debating if's is pretty fucking stupid so i'm gonna stop now.

If it hadn't been the first game without Lawson, and UNC had a few games against lessor competition it wouldn't have made as much a difference.

But you are right "if's" is all that we are talking about, UNC could have had Lawson and still lost that game. I am pretty sure I posted a few times that dook was the better team that night and executed their gameplan a lot better than UNC.

while Lawson didn't dominate he definitely made a difference.

If he doesn't play then QT is on the court for 35 freaking minutes. Now QT played pretty good tonight but he doesn't need to be on the court 35 minutes.

and while dook played like crap it was their own damn fault. They are so undisciplined in jacking up three after three after three. Ironic that the posterization Green gave Paulus was right after Paulus shot one from 30 feet. I don't care how hot he is that is a stupid shot.

When dook did come back it was because Nelson and Paulus and Scheyer were driving to the hoop. If they had spent more time doing that in the first half they might have won the game.

But to me the play that epitomizes why dook's punk ass brand of basketball sucks out loud was when dook came down, under a minute to play, down 6 or 8 and Scheyer, instead of going up trying to make a three (which would have kept them in the game) does his usual patented spastic dook flop trying to draw a foul. He could have cared less about squaring up, shooting and making the shot. All he wanted was a foul - which he deservedly didn't get.

Danny Green was the MVP - his offense and his blocks on D were the difference.

I'd like a picture of Greens dunk on Paulus for a PC wallpaper
