At the risk of getting ridiculed right out of this thread, what about Alex Haynes? Seriously? I seem to remember he's looked pretty decent in pre-season games. Of course, I don't see as much as y'all do, so I may be totally missing it.

he's like 230lbs or something he could be a big back for us? he didn't look bad and we resigned himto a one year deal so maybe. maybe thats why they didn't sign a turner or duckett? maybe we could keep him and get like steve slaton in the 4th or something? rb/wr/kr

    we had (have) Alex Haynes.

The Steelers have Verron Haynes. Solid option, but was cut a few times.

Okay, so seriously -- does anyone have an opinion or an idea as to why he's not good enough to be in the RB rotation? I'm not suggesting he's better than DW, but what (if anything) keeps him from being good enough to contribute?

I think that's the type of question that only the coaches know. We've activated him. We kept him and cut Shelton. I think we like him, but we're not the type of offense to rotate a bunch of different backs.

I was talking VH not AH, but sure, AH has been cut plenty as well. He's not been able to beat out Goings, so that tells me enough, but if he steps it up, no there's no reason. The problem is we need more than Goings.

What this thread needs is MORE Nick Goings.
