If there is anything I see them improving in it is the running game. Even with juggling the OL I can't see how it can get any worse.

I was once a huge Foster fan but DW is a clear upgrade in my opinion.

I would have like to have seen Foster kick ass here...it just never panned out. I think DW is an upgrade, but he seems like a back who would thrive in a RB-by-committee system.

Running game and healthy qb, and we got a shot.

I could add pass rush to that.

This isn't the BCS, two wild card teams have won super bowls the last 3 years.

I would like to have seen us look at another big-time reciever to open up the run game and take some heat off Smith. I think Moose can do some of that, but imagine Moose, Smith and maybe Donte Stallworth. Somebody is going to be open in man coverage.

We seem to be putting alot of eggs in the Jarret basket. ANd so far that basket has a hole in it.

True...but wouldn't it better to be head and shoulders above the rest than hoping for a lotta luck??

It would be. I don't think fans would complain either way, so long as we win the Super Bowl.

well, the direction of the team is something new and moderately interesting...griping about how awful we were the last two years because of __________ is the old stuff.

and how would you suggest we do that?
FWIW, I don't think spending $45 mil to get Calvin Pace is the right way, but I don't know "the right way".

I guess I don't really see their direction yet. It's not exactly clear what they want to be.

Right now they're just a version of what they were last year. I'm sure when the draft rolls around, we'll have a better idea of what they envision for themselves. Alot of people question the wisdom of counting on the draft to get better, but outside of getting a playmaker reciever, there's not been anyone in FAgency that we really needed. I guess I'm afraid they'll do like last year and think they are just one or two players away from a championship caliber team.
