Individualism? Rebuke of social standards? Rebellion? I have no idea - this has been something I've always wondered, too.
Anyone on here gay that can try to explain this?

Not to speak for anyone, but I've talked to a few of the gay people on the board and have been told by them that they DIDN'T choose to be gay - that they ARE gay, and have always been attracted to the same sex.

No, the mustard seed isn't the smallest seed. Nothing to do with faith. The standard apologies still apply: Jesus was speaking metaphorically, so the idea being wrong that the mustard seed was the smallest seed really has no bearing.

Sorry, I assumed that folks were aware of that "standard" biblical error.

Who cares if it's the smallest seed or if it isn't the smallest seed? The point was if someone even had faith that was VERY SMALL then he'd be able to move a mountain or uproot a mulberry tree and plant it in the sea.

There are also people that have convinced themselves (because of surroundings, growing up, certain social stimuli, etc.) that they are something they are not. (Murderers being the 'hand of God', Religious leaders being apostles, etc.) That doesn't mean it's true in God's eyes or in God's will. I'm not judging people who say they are gay - if that's a lifestyle they want to live, that's fine. I'm just saying I do believe that the Bible speaks very clearly that this is a choice.

If it's wrong, then that opens the possiblility that other things are wrong. Maybe Paul didn't like homosexuals for reasons unrealted to God. Maybe Paul was concerned about social norms instead of the wishes of God.

Maybe God does create us all and homosexuals serve one of God's mysterious purposes such as seeing if we rashly judge others instead of working on being better people ourselves.

That's at least more noble than suggesting folks have become like Pavlov's dogs when it comes to wedge issues. I applaud you and your parlor tricks.

The point is simply that the Bible doesn't mention that it IS the smallest seed..... Where in the heck did you come up with that??
    I can't believe I'm arguing this.
I didn't even read the rest of your post. LOL.

Ok, now I've read it and you obviously have no idea about what being a Christian means. God doesn't need to watch us to see if we rashly judge others. He already KNOWS us. If we are saved through faith, we are accepted as one of God's children and will spend eternity with Him.
Not sure if I'm wasting my time explaining this or not. I expect I am, but wish it wasn't falling on deaf ears.

Same is true of a homosexual.

Besides, I contend that we're saved through Grace - not faith. Who are any of us to determine who God sheds his Grace upon?
