Bobcats are cheaper than the freaking Hornets

So, I saw some New Orleans Hornets highlights at the beginning of SportsCenter, and it was a local game clearly broadcast in HD. Even had the CTV-HD logo on the screen.

Does anyone think the Bobcats will be broadcast in HD in the next three years?

I sure as hell don't. Bob Johnson needs to help this team survive instead of continuing this entitlement attitude that has got him in a shitty position to begin with.

The product is closer than people would think by the record, but all the details are missing. I want a local HD service for my Bobcats.

 

They need to start winning some games before anyone is going to take them seriously. During the off season I got interested. They locked up Wallace and added Richardson and it looked like they were ready to do something but they did not. This offseason they need to lock up Okafor and get a better head coach. Do that and resolve the issues at point guard and they are ready to make the playoffs.

 

not until News Channel 14 is broadcast in HD. They need to get out of their deal with TW if they're gonna do anything in HD anytime soon.

 

They are a terrible team in the horrible eastern conference.

I have heard through the grapevine that the players are not real fond of coach Vincent! I personally think the guy is way over his head. But thats just me. Another great move by MJ.

 

Everybody rags on Jordan, but he did manage to get rid of the 3 contract albatrosses around Washington's neck and he did get us Jason Richardson, who's averaging about 20 more ppg than Brandan Wright. He's not complete crap.

 

I think when the Bobcats and Time Warner sign their naming rights deal, the team will then work on getting their games on FSN-South and/or SPORTSSOUTH next. Then you will see some games getting aired in HD (as well as area sports bars, which will help raise awareness and attendance).

NOTE: Hmmmmmmmm, now that the Hurricanes get first dibs on air dates on FSN-South (didn't they just sign a new contract where at least 60 games will be on cable over the next few years) I wonder how many games the Bobcats can get on FSN-South ? ? ?

As far as the team itself, I was very excited in the offseason. However, injuries and a shitty coach have led to us getting blown out more often than at any point in their history. Which is unacceptable cosidering this is also the most talented Bobcat team by a mile.

They will be much better next year as long as they keep Okafor. I'm not worried so much about the on-court product as I am about the marketing of that product. News 14 really hurts the development of the fanbase, as the NFL is king everywhere. And everyone knows that not only does TWC not have the NFL package, they don't even have NFL Network.

Meanwhile, satellite gives you NFL Network HD for the sports fans, who will choose that over crappy looking News 14 Bobcat games. Only the sick ones who love basketball like me are stuck with cable.

Being on News 14 is nearly as bad an idea as C-SET was.

 

I agree with your statements. These are things we all seem to forget from time to time. While MJ is not crap, he just (at this point & time) won't be winning the executive of the year award any time soon!

 

I hear that the players don't just sort of dislike Vincent, they HATE him. I also hear that MJ will be here this weekend(and hes here a hell of a lot more often than people know) to tell Vincent hes done as coach after this season.

the TWC deal is still being worked out but they will be on FOX Sports next year if not this year(only month and a half left for the B-Cats).
