What are your thoughts on this game? Who is going to win? Meph. plays in a weak division but has some good wins. Tenn. Has played well but has squeaked out a couple wins.

Tenn. is really playing well right now. Both teams are very athletic and play at a high pace. Tenn.'s defense has gotten much better. I haven't thought Memphis' defense was very good. The game will probably come down to foul shooting and Memphis isn't good at that. I think Memphis will win, but I'm pulling for Tenn.
I think it will be an excellent game - I'm looking forward to it.

I like Pearl and I think it could be a good game for him. So say Tenn wins. Do they switch spots 1 and 2?

Or if Meph. wins do they just stay in the same ranking?

    Go Vols. Beat the squid.

Memphis' starting 5 is better, but TN is deeper, and shoots FTs better (usually). The game is at Memphis, which will be huge for them. Be prepared to laugh at all the orange in the building though. Know that it pisses the Memphis fans off much worse than you'd suspect.

I was thinking the same thing until I saw that Tenn only shoots free throws 64% as a team. Granted, that's better than Memphis's 58% but not by much. If it comes down to free throws, fans of both teams are going have fingers and toes crossed for good luck.

What I want to know is does Tennessee have a chance at being the #1 seed for Charlotte? They are only about 4 hours from here and it's easily the closest. Memphis has pretty much locked up the #1 seed for Houston (I think it's Houston) even if they lose. Kansas probably gets the #1 seed in Detroit and then you have Tennessee, UNC, Duke (if Duke cleans up their act and beats UNC and runs the table in regular season play which is possible and get to the ACC tourney finals), and UCLA is in there to. Tennessee has the #1 or #2 RPI. I have to think that during the talks, if UNC drops a game (especially to Duke) they are out of the top spot for Charlotte if Duke continues to win. That 2 losses aganst Duke would be too much to overcome in my opinion to put them in front of Duke, and if they don't beat Duke they'll finish the regular season without a win over a ranked team and against the top 3 teams in the conference they would have 0-2 against Duke, 0-1 against Maryland and 3 combined OT's against Clemson. I think if Tennessee wins tomorrow they have a great shot at getting the Charlotte #1. They'll probably suck off the Heels and if the Heels get a #2 watch them be put in the Charlotte region anyway.

Depends upon who is shooting them. Chism and Prism shoot 50%. Lofton shoots 86%, Tyler and JJ Smith shoot a high percentage as well.

Both teams are athletic, Memphis' size at guard is a big advantage for them. UT will need to force turnovers to win.

What a great game. Tennessee down three, Tyler Smith with the layup. Gets a stop, Tyler Smith with the impossible post up fade away jumper.

Memphis mugs Lofton most of the game, we shoot 37 percent, and still win. JP Prince and Tyler Smith, the second half heroes.
