That's between him and Christ. Don't speak as if you know what Christ would say or think.

I agree with Math here. I don't believe we'll need to 'justify' our lives to Christ. What would be the point? He already knows ALL - including 'how' we would justify our lives. I think all we can do as Christians is live our lives to the best of our ability and give a light for others to see in the hopes that they'll come to know Him as well.

Actually, the Bible's purpose is so we WILL know what Christ would say or think.

That's interesting - I thought the Bible was to show us God's love, how to love others as he loved us (the cross), and to help shed some light on God's plan for us as Christians.
I didn't know it is supposed to help us look into the mind of God. I'm not sure that I have that book in my bible.

It is also intended for you to know God, and to understand how to be Godly. Jesus life was a blueprint for how God intends for us to live...so we were given the Bible to undertsand 'What would Jesus do". The only way to know is to know him through the Bible, and to understand what he would think or do.

I agree with you in everything you said - except the last part. I don't think we can ever understand what God 'thinks'. His will is His alone and our minds could never be able to understand 'why' certain things happen. We can understand His Spirit. We can understand His love. We can try to obey those things we believe He would frown upon. But we can't begin to think we could understand what He 'thinks', right? It's more about belief than it is about knowing what God 'thinks', in my opinion.

Congratulations. I think you're the first person that gave the pink slip to the Holy Spirit. He's been downsized and replaced by a book.

You have to wonder what those Christians did before the bible was compiled and ultimately made available to the public.

The book is his living word.

Hebrews 4:12 calls the word of God living and active.

Before the canonization the word still existed.

I think God's purpose for us is to know him. I believe we were created to know him. Are we capable of full understanding of everything that goes on?? Maybe not. But, Jesus came for a multitude of reasons; obviously to be the sacrifice for our sins, but also because to show how to live, how to think and what to do.
