I have a lot of respect for Warden on this one. I however believe differently and that it is possible to be gay and be a Christian. Being gay is a choice, just like being a Christian is a choice. If, however, a gay person is a Christian - I would hope they would really take a look at their lifestyle (just as all Christians should) because to the non-Christians they interact with - that may be the only 'Bible' they ever see.

    Thanks for the kind words.

I will say this. If a person who is lost, is a homosexual, then "accepts Christ" and then reverts back to their sin - I really question the fact that they ever really repented and was actually saved. However, if a person who wasnt homosexual, accepts Christ, then falls into homosexuality - then that person is living in sin and can get out of it.

Read to James 4:4 very carefully. You cant have it both ways.

I completely agree that one would question the fact that they were really saved. I know that I've accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior - however, I do occassionally have a bit too much to drink (which is a sin). I don't believe this means I'm not a Christian. I believe in God's eyes - sin = sin - there are not different levels of sin. We are human and because of Adam and Eve, we will sin - knowingly or not.
I also believe it's not our place to judge the level of 'savedness' in someone else. Only God can do that.

I do completely respect your opinion, though, and the above is just mine.

Then it's a good thing you don't get paid to think.

Excuse me, but it looks to me like what you just said was:

The Bible doesn't contradict itself, but when it does contradict itself, I can't understand or explain it, so I don't question it. I just chalk it up to having Faith.

I don't think God gave us the ability to reason expecting us to just parrot back what we're taught without question. I don't think blind acceptance is the same as thoughtful faith. As an intelligent person & a spiritual person, I want to understand things & I want to know the truth. It's ridiculous to expect thinking people to totally overlook contradictions in scripture. We SHOULD question those things. Truth should be able to stand up to such questioning.

Of course there are limits to what we can explain & understand, things that it's beyond our science & reasoning power to explain. THAT'S where faith comes in, after you've pushed past the limits of simple logic & reasoning.

Actually, I do get paid to think. Making important decisions is apart of my job.

But you might want to think about that encounter with Christ. How are you going to justify your lifestyle to Him?
