I was taken to church as a lad, but to live the seperated life was a choice I had to make. The choice of salvation by grace through faith was a choice I had to make. The world is all about choices, and I chose to live differently.

Proverbs 22:6 still rings true for me today

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will never depart from it."

I'm sorry that you take my skepticism of the Bible's teachings as non-belief. If I was to the point where I didn't believe most of it, I wouldn't be a Christian at all. I question everything and everyone until I'm satisfied. I hope I never am satisfied of the kind of Christian I am.

You can take things however you want to. But on the topic "Can You Be Gay and a Christian?", I gave you what the Bible response is, which is NO. If you question The Bible on this topic and go against what it says, your way of thinking is completely on the fritz. Its just like thinking murder is OK when the law says its wrong. Its the same principle.

Yeah but the Bible contradicts itself on that one. You know, from 'Thou Shalt Not Kill' to 'Go over to Country X and wipe out everyone, including the women and children'. How do you reconcile that one?

And you didn't give me what the Bible response is, because the Bible doesn't address whether you can be gay and be a Christian. It only says that homosexuality is a sin. If you are therefore saying that you can't sin and be a Christian, well, we'll just start calling you Jesus. You keep quoting all these Bible verses (which is very impressive, BTW), but I KNOW what the Bible says. It's what it means that concerns me.

And I know what The Bible says too. I believe that when someone accepts Christ and commits a sin, they can obtain forgiveness (I John 1:9). But I also believe that when a person accepts Christ, they change their walk, talk, actions, beliefs - EVERYTHING. This is REPENTANCE. But there are someone that say they accept Christ and still live in the same sin they were living in, which is a false repentance.

As my uncle, who is a preacher, always says..."A dancing foot and a praying knee doesn't grow on the same leg."

Hate to break it to you, I ain't gay. But I am a Heels fan, but that's not a sin...:lol2:

I can handle a 1 on 1 with Christ. That the thought of that doesn't bother me. What does scare the crap out of me is being around His 'Christians' on earth.

I think its the other way around....You shouldnt worry about the Christians, you more need to worry about the 1 on 1 you'll have with Christ, himself. Because its Him to where have to give an account (actions, works, deeds, etc.) of yourself to.

I wasn't suggesting you were homosexual. I was suggesting you were persecuted, discriminated against, and generally thought of as an outcast. You still make the choice to get out of bed and go on with your life. I think the idea that gays are generally outcast and persecuted is just ridiculous anyway.

Just like people who drive those ugly Honda Element. They are persecuted and discriminated against, but they keep driving them. Why I ask you - why?!?!?

The Bible isn't contradictory unless passages are taken out of context and misinterpreted. I'm no Bible or history scholar so I can't necessarily explain why one verse says what and why this other verse says something another way. I just know that it's so. It's called Faith.
