The Hearing on Capitol Hill

I watched too much of the hearing today with Clemmens and McNamee. I want to believe someone but I'll just be damned if I can figure out who is telling the truth. My gut is that Clemmens is not telling the truth but McNamee is not a saint. Pettite should have been there today, it would have been fun to watch the reaction with Clemmens.

 

Neither of the parties did a very good job. Clemens screwed up his story a couple times, but McNamee got drilled. McNamee is lying for sure, and I think Clemens is too......who knows what to believe?

By the way, I really liked the part where the guy asked Clemens which Jersey he is going to put in the Hall of Fame.

 

They are both lying, but I wish that McNamee would've asked the congressmen who were grilling him how they liked their autographs...

 

They drilled McNamee on his past and inconsistincies, which is shady. What he's admitted to doing is illegal. It's hard for a snitch to be a saint.

But clearly Clemons came off worse. It's one thing to say McNamee lied. It's another to claim McNamee lied, Petite "misremembered", while intimidating potential witnesses and throwing his wife under the bus.

I'll say this for Roger. He plays the part well. He may even believe his own lies.

 

Clemens is an asshole, and I hope he burns....

 

I think that the only good thing to come out of this is that we all now know that Debbie Clemmens is a babe.

 

baseball needs to move on. I hate that we are here talking about this instead of talking about spring training starting in less than 2 weeks. I don't care any more about this HGH and Steroid argument.....lets get back to baseball.

 

I don't think that it's possible to just move on. The two greatest players of our generation are tainted. Barry Bonds and Roger Clemmens have brought into focus the problem. I have long asserted that over half of the players in MLB are juiced with closer to 80% in the NFL. This is a catastrophic problem IMO. What happens to Clemmens and for sure what happens to Bonds does not concern me. I, like you love the game and right now it's in a very sad state. My solution, get the players union to agree to blood testing.

Clemens is laughable at this point. this is better than Christmas.
