    Not steroids, HGH. And it was to get in shape for the SI swimsuit shoot they did a few years back. In any case, your desperate need to believe that these guys are clean obviously derives from your hero worship of baseball players. What you need to do is start realizing that these guys are only human and that putting them up on a pedestal just sets you up for disappointment.

    I'm not putting anyone up on a pedestal, and I don't think that McNamee is a real honest character. I'm not saying that Clemens didn't juice, hell I don't know. His wife may have too. Hell, for that matter my 10 month old niece may be on HGH. But c'mon....McNamee just isn't a reliable source for me on this.

    The fact that Pettite copped to taking HGH doesn't show the Rocket in a good light. Clemens started losing it a little after age 30 and then "voila" he became a dominant pitcher again for a LONG time. Something happened and it wasn't that he started eating a more nutritious diet.
