I don't see this in scripture. I see warnings about trusting in your wealth instead of God - but not : possession of wealth = go to hell.

that's what I mean, if you actually read that passage in Mk10 I think it demonstrates the guys love of money more than his love of God. -
Even after the whole "camel through a needle" thing Jesus says but nothing is impossible with God.

Parker didn't say anything about going to hell because you love your money more than God, so I'm not sure where you got that from.

I didn't say it was instant hell proclamation, but Jesus warns about the temptation of it several times. How many times do you see Jesus talk about homosexuality in the Gospels. I'll answer that for you. Zip. Homosexuality doesn't appear in the new testament until the epistles. Yet which of those messages do you hear preached the most today?

Not only is the bible fallible in direct writing because it was written by men who wrote as men of their age, culture, and understanding, it is fallible in it's interpretation because we interpret a large portion of it due to our age, culture and understanding of it.

Edited to add: Let me add to say, it's not that I believe the bible is wrong on all points, I just don't believe it's wholly right on all points. That being said, we each have to hold into account that the parts we hold to be true might be wrong.

Valid point but I think the emphasis on homosexuality seen among christians is a backlash to attempts force people to accept it.

You need to investigate further. Moses might have compiled Genesis, but Genesis is believed to have been written by more than one author. There is also significant doubt that Moses was the sole author of the rest of the Pentateuch.

Does it really matter? Those books survived thousands of years and have become the bedrock of several major world religions. How can you think God did not have a hand in that? Christianity, Islam and Judisim all use those books.

    This...
    and this...
...are contrary to my logic. Either you have free will or you don't.

    And as for the other...
If I have sincerely sought God's council on the issue of homosexuality, it wouldn't matter to you, because you think it's a sin. You'd tell me that I'd misinterpreted what He was telling me, probably.
