Early JESUS FREAKS Video Highlights from the 1970's




If you scroll thru this and the other videos in this stream, you will see various clips of Pastor Chuck Smith (Calvary Chapel-Costa Mesa) and some of his church members on the KATHRYN KHULMAN SHOW in the early 70's. KATHRYN KHULMAN was an evangelist from the 1950's-mid 1970's (she died in 1976 I think . . An early mentor of her was a young pastor from Israel named Benny Hinn**). This first clip has Lonnie Frisbee giving his testimony (ex-hippie turned preacher who looked like Jesus who worked with Pastor Chuck back in the early days of CALVARY CHAPEL along with Mike MacIntosh & Greg Laurie).


**Pretty much, Benny Hinn's current crusades are modeled on the way Kathryn Khulman did her's; Praise & worship > teaching > healing testimonies> altar call

I didn't know the Vineyard Church movement came from this guy. Anyhow, this looks like an interesting documentary on Lonnie Frisbee, and it sounds like it addresses that thing with Lonnie Frisbee that happens with many - dying to the old self and becoming a new self isn't always an instant and easy thing.

Evidently Lonnie Frisbee was gay.

 

I wish I could see that documentary on Lonnie Frisbee to know more about his background, his rise & fall. He performed many good works during the JESUS MOVEMENT, but he fell back into the homosexual lifestyle. If he could heal others, why he couldn't do the same for himself . . . . Maybe that's a question that needs to be put to the entire forum.
