Here's an analogy: Knight is to College Basketball as Collin is to Message boards.

He may be right a lot but that doesn't excuse him being an asshole?

I think you're on to something.

it is funny. it's a message board that's based on giving opinions about everything. dude acts like everyone besides him eats cereal with a fork or plays in traffic and it's impossible not to see a subject from a different light than him. sadly, I agree with 90% of the shit he says, but if I have issue with the other 10%, guess I just keep quiet.

Let's assume that you're right about that 90%, in which case the remaining 10% are the people like Piper and hasbeen99 who aren't prone to saying obviously stupid things. I can discuss subjects with those people and even disagree with them, but I don't get angry with them even if we disagree because they aren't saying stupid things.

And as for why I argue with the people who do say stupid things, it's far more important to stand up against stupidity than it is to simply do the easiest thing. Lazy people would sit back and say nothing, but I actually care about knowledge and "truth," at least as I see those things (there are times when I'm wrong, which therefore makes those reactions even more inappropriate).

Good grief. I already made that point twice.

How about making it a poll. Who would want their son to be coached by Knight? Sure he was a great coach but his methods border on abuse. There are as many coaches that could get the same results without the tactics. I fr one wouldn't want my son to play for him

I love debating, but I don't actually enjoy arguing in the sense of telling people like you how stupid you are. Correcting your idiocy raises my blood pressure and gives me a headache, yet I feel compelled to do it anyway because idiocy offends me on a fundamental level.
