When you get out of high school, I think (or at least hope) that your behavior won't be governed by the desire to "make friends." Trying to get people to like you is a horrible reason to do anything. Plus it's worth noting that you're being a complete dick to me, so you can't exactly claim the moral high ground there.
Yeah, I do. Scouts have never believed that Carmona had the potential to be "great." Above average, sure, but he was never considered a top prospect. As noted, he only appeared once on Baseball America's Top 100 list, and that was at #76 in 2004. Having natural sink on a high velocity fastball is very useful, but that alone doesn't give him the potential to be great. Carmona was unlucky in '06, lucky in '07, and will presumably be somewhere in between in '08. That makes him a good starting pitcher at the major league level, but he is not on the same level as C.C. Sabathia.
You had no clue about the significance of BABIP, for instance.

    A.L. East

    Boston - 97-65
    Yankees - 93 - 69
    Toronto - 86 - 76
    Tampa Bay - 78 - 84
    Baltimore - 64 - 98

    A.L. Central

    Detroit - 95 - 67
    Cleveland - 93 - 69
    Chicago - 75 - 87
    Kansas City - 74 - 88
    Minnesota - 71 - 91

    A.L. West

    Angels - 96 - 66
    Seattle - 84 - 78
    Oakland - 74 - 88
    Texas - 72 - 90

    N.L. East

    Mets - 99 - 63
    Atlanta - 89 - 73
    Philli - 86 - 76
    Washington - 72 - 90
    Florida - 67 - 95

    N.L. Central

    Cubs - 89 - 73
    Milwaukee - 84 - 78
    St Louis - 79 - 83
    Houston - 76 - 86
    Cincinatti - 76 - 86
    Pittsburgh - 68 - 94

    N.L West

    Arizona - 94 - 68
    San Diego - 91 - 71
    Dodgers - 87 - 75
    Rockies - 84 - 78
    San Fran - 73 - 89

By far this should be a really exciting year in baseball...anything can go....the N.L West is going to look tough but with Arizona getting Haren, they seen to be the favorite next to the mets in the national league...The padres should be pretty tough along with the dodgers and rockies...and san fran sucks anyway

The Cubs should be able to take the Central with the Brewers trailing a few games behind them...St.Louis, Houston, and the Reds should all be around the 75 win mark....and the pirates will finish last again

The Mets should take the East by many games now getting Santana and having a healthy pedro for awhile....the braves may be able to put up a fight, but i think they will be battling for 2nd place with the philli's all year....the nats and the marlins seem like they will be the same as last year.

Prediction: Mets vs Padres.....Mets in 4 Mets vs Dbacks....Mets in 6
    Dbacks vs Cubs.....Dbacks in 4

The A.L. East looks like the toughest division this year...Boston should be able to win it again with the yanks commin in 2nd....the bluejays will be tough again but they wont be able to size up to the redsox and yankees...the devil rays are gonna be tougher than last year....they can possible win more than 75 games this year...and baltimore has awhile to go

The central should go to the tigers with the indians taking 2nd by a few games..chicago, minnesota, and kansas city will be around the same with 70-75 wins.

The west will be the angels...they should be able to run away with it and compete with boston for the top team in the American League. The Mariners will post a record a little over .500 and then oakland and texas will try to avoid last place

Predictions: Yanks and Indians will tie for wildcard but the yankees will win in a one game playoff just cuz they are the yankees.

Boston vs Detroit Detroit in 5 Detroit vs Angels Angels in 7
Yankees vs Angels Angels in 4

World Series - Mets Vs Angels.....Mets in 6

National League wins the All Star game and the mets game 6 will be at shea and that will be a shea finale.

    NL: (*wild card)
    East-

    Philadelphia-(102-60)
    New York-(97-65)*
    Atlanta-(90-72)
    Washington-(80-82)
    Florida-(58-104)

~This will be the best division in baseball next year. If New York were in any other division in the NL they would win it, but the thing is, is that the have th face philly, atlanta, and yes even washington will be a problem for them.(at least they'll be a problem for Johan who got thumped by them last year) The NL East will again be won by philly, and yes J-Roll will be 2 for 2 on his predictions by winning at least 100 games, in fact they will win 102 games this season. They will do so by winning key road games, owning the inter-league play, and staying dominant at home.

    Central-

    Milwaukee-(95-67)
    Chicago-(92-70)
    Houston-(85-77)
    Cincinnati-(72-90)
    Pittsburgh-(68-94)
    St. Louis-(62-100)

~Chris Capuano will have a rebound year this year and fall into his old form, and give Milwaukee 19 wins. With the help of ben sheets and vetran leadership of Suppan, The Brewers starting rotation will catapult them into the playoffs. The cubs will do well, and any other year the would have stolen the wild card but since the mets and phills happen to play in the same division, the cubs are going to have the concentrate on the division lead, cause as long and philly and new york look the way the do, and play the way they do, than the wild card will be coming out of the NL East every year.

    West-

    Arizona-(92-70)
    Colorado-(91-71)
    Los Angeles-(89-73)
    San Diego-(82-80)
    San Fransisco-(66-96)

~The NL every year is getting better, and better and the records show it and will continue to show it. With only 4 teams in each league playing october baseball, good teams each year will miss that chance. A great example is the western division with colorado and los angeles fielding such competetive teams it'll be a shame not being able to see them in the playoffs. every year a team will miss the playoffs, when in fact they might have a better record than someone in the playoffs. Colorado will be one of those teams this year, but like i said before since philly and new york are in the same division that means that the wild card will be coming out of that division....as long as new york and philly can put the kind of players they have right now on for years to come.

    NL MVP:Chase Utley-Philadelphia Phillies
NL CY YOUNG: Johan Santana-New York Mets
    NL ROY:Jayson Nix-Colorado Rockies
    NL MANAGER OTY:Charlie Manuel-Philadelphia Phillies

    AL:
    East-

    Boston-(94-68)
    Toronto-(89-73)
    New York-(88-74)
    Tampa Bay-(75-87)
    Baltimore-(52-110)

~I know it's wierd joe torre doesn't make the playoffs with his new dodgers, and the "torre-less" yakees don't make the playoffs either. At least i think it's wierd. Boston will yet again win the division despite not making much change to the team...hmmm maybe thats a good thing?....we'll see. Yes that is not a mistake Toronto is indeed second in the division and as you can see is very close to making the playoffs. Like i said before some good, well deserving teams won't make the playoffs.

    Central-

    Detroit-(98-64)
    Cleveland-(92-70)*
    Chicago-(82-80)
    Kansas City-(74-88)
    Minnesota-(64-98)

~Detroit has just too much depth....well, everywhere. It'll be too much for cleveland to win the division. I like what kansas city is doing and where they are going. they like the tampa bay rays were concsistent perennial favorites to be the worst in the majors but now both teams have made a total 90 degree turnaround and are now seriously competing. Both teams in years past would have been happy with getting 70 win season, now they have retooled to win with good young talent that will only get better. Look for both of these teams to seriously compete for and participate(yes participate) in october baseball within a season or two.

    West-

    Los Angeles-(100-62)
    Seattle-(90-72)
    Texas-(71-91)
    Oakland-(59-103)

~Seattle would have gotten the wild card spot but cleveland is just that good. Texas is taking their foot in the right direction but signing Nolan Ryan as there president. Ryan is far to competetive to sit and suck on the money teat and not try to compete. Texas needed a change because of all of the bad trades and letting good players go. I'll name a few...Ivan Rodrigez,Alex Rodrigez, Alfonso Soriano, Gary Matthews JR, Mark Texiera, Kenny Rogers, Chris Young, etc. Then aquiring bad players, vicente padilla, kevin Millwood, Jarod saltelamacchia,Akinori Otsuka, etc. This year they surprised me by trading for josh hamilton. he's a great young center fielder, witch they needed badly. then they signed milton bradly witch can only help there sub par batting last year. Now if they can only bring in some pitching in the rotation, as well as the bullpen then i can see them as well competing for and participating in october baseball in the near future.

    AL MVP:Curtis Granderson-Detroit Tigers
AL CY YOUNG:John Lackey-Los Angeles Angels
AL ROY: Evan Longoria-Tampa Bay Rays
AL MANAGER OTY:Mike Sciocia-Los Angeles Angels

I hope you're not considering "shutting down" last year's Tigers lineup anywhere near the same thing as being able to "slow down" the 2008 lineup. It may be the best of all-time. Pudge is the worst hitter in their lineup, and he's a career .300.

I can't deny the tigers lineup is scary, but it was the best in the league last year as well and they finished 8 games back of the Indians. I think they forgot to upgrade what they really needed, pitching. We'll see how the Indians pitching staff handles Detroit's bats, but i do know that everytime these teams play it'll feel exactly like a playoff game. The rivalry is escalating to the second best in baseball behind the yankees and red sox. It's gonna be a great 2008.

The Yankees had a better lineup than Detroit last year and will again in '08. As for the pitching comment, they did add Dontrelle Willis, although I'm not his biggest fan. He'll probably be no better than average in the A.L., but as an innings eater he's still somewhat useful. Really the big thing will be having a rebound year from Jeremy Bonderman. He's a much better pitcher than he showed last season, while Verlander is a legitimate ace. Actually Cleveland and Detroit have pretty similar problems when it comes to pitching, but I just barely prefer the Indians' lineup (assuming a big rebound from Hafner).
