Can You Be Gay and a Christian ? ? ?

There is a passage (help me HB as to where) something to the effect that sexual sin includes taking sin into the body, which is the temple of the Lord.

I disagree. And it ultimately is important to gain forgiveness from God, not necessarily from people.

 

I am talking about getting forgiveness from God. The bible is pretty clear when it calls homosexual relations a sin. Would you feel the same if a person was proud to be an adulterer or proud to be a thief?

 

What does it say? Does it say that it is a worse/better sin than any other?

 

18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have recieved from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

 

Would you feel the same if it was a non-married heterosexual couple?

But back to the original question. Since my GF late brother was gay and went to church regularly, sang in the quire, participated in community outreach programmes and damn sure had more of the Holy Spirit in him then ive ever had id say unequivically YES. You can be gay and christian.

You actually believe there were two people in a little neck of the woods in the Middle East somewhere and they talked to snakes? Knowing what I know now based on fossils and other sciences, I don't believe the story of the creation. I believe in the lessons from those stories.

The people who wrote the bible knew a lot less about the world than we do now. That's why I think they got it wrong when it comes to homosexuality.

 

I would feel the same way about anyone who is proud of their sin. A man who is proud to be shacked up with a woman is not going to get forgiveness any quicker than someone who is gay and proud.

Math, I obviously disagree with you about the worth of the bible. I believe it was divinely inspired and worth much more than the opinions of some bronze age shepards. I am curious how one can be a christian and at the same time think the bible is just a collections of writings that God did not have a hand in.
