As any Christian should. So does Big Mark.

What about a repentant homosexual/adulterer? How about a repentant porn addict? How about a repentant thief?

So you're saying that in your mind, these 2 sins are worse than any of the others? And does that mean that someone who has repented & doesn't practice that behavior anymore is still unqualified for church leadership of any kind?

That would eliminate a lot of deacons & elders & pastors that no one suspects of having one or both of those sins in their past. Just sayin'.

Agreed but some homosexual want to share it with everyone. They want to say they are Christians while at the same time saying they are gay and proud. Those two things are incompatible. If you are proud of your sins then you are not going to obtain forgiveness for them. It is no different than any other sin. If you sleep with a different woman every night and are proud of your ability as a pick up artist you are not going to be forgiven until you see that activity as a sin.

I didn't say repentant...practicing anything. But then I think there are degrees of sin also.

Your excuses are comically bad because this discussion isn't about secular laws. It's about something being a sin, and some people not wanting Christians to acknowledge that homosexual acts are a sin according to the Bible. Your point about adultery still being considered a sin just reinforces my argument, and I'm not sure why you don't understand that.

Other than the "God Hates Fags" people, there aren't that many churches that won't accept someone who has turned away from the gay lifestyle. No, you're talking about churches that exclude people who are unrepentantly homosexual. You think churches should accept people who are gay and proud of it.

That makes no sense. Stealing a penny and murdering a child are not equal sins in God's eyes.

You're right -- I misspoke there. That's what I get for trying to put words in someone else's mouth. :disappointed:

I agree with Mark's point that there should be NO sin that should bar anyone from the doors of a church. At the same time, you're right, Collin (and spud) -- that all sinful acts aren't equally evil and/or harmful. My bad there.

I ahve never seen anything where God ranks the sins in order of badness or evilness.

The way that I have always understood it is that they are all sins and all forgiveable, no matter how large or small they may be.

The distinctions of degree seem to be made in our eyes, not His.

This was my understanding as well. They only sin greater than any other was rejecting God.
