I believe homosexuals are born that way. You can throw out the Anne Hesch card, but I think she would be considered bi-curious. You can also throw the abused or molested as children card, but to say that every single homosexual was abused as a child so they chose to be gay, is wrong. IMO.

I guess what I don't see (and perhaps I'm just missing it) is, what does the church gain by condemning homosexuals?

Yes, homosexuality is a sin, but the church is there to offer salavtion to sinners - not exclusion. I'm a sinner, and will sin again. I try not too, but it will happen, and when it does, I'll still be welcomed at church and offered forgiveness.

Again, I don't see why there's the desire to put all this effort into condemning one type of sinner.

The stumbling block seems to be the lack of repentance for churches, generally.

I happen to believe that churches should admit or bar anyone they wish, for any reason they wish. Nothing selective about it.

I happen to agree with you there; & that applies to anything a group of people chooses to organize around a certain set of principles or rules.

In the case of organized Christianity, I was just pointing out that they don't agree among themselves. It's not the liberal outsiders that are trying to make them accept anything. The dissension is coming from within their own ranks.

As an outsider myself, the way homosexuals are treated in general by self-proclaimed Christians & Christianity in general is just one tiny speck of the evidence I considered when rejecting it as a faith for myself.

It is hard to be a Christian if you will not admit your sin. God will save a homosexual if he admits and repents from his sin. If he does not see his homosexuality as a sin then it is hard to see how he gets forgiveness for it. I am not saying that a saved homosexual could not fall to temptation but those who see it as normal do not agree with God.

I read somewhere that Ghandi, while in exile, had read the bible or at least the New Testament and was convinced that Jesus was the Messiah and searched out a christian so that he may be baptised and become a christian also. He went to a christian church where he was not allowed in because of the color of his skin. He later said that if he hadn't met a christian he would have been one.
