    If you are looking for deep lyrics then hard rock and metal is probably the wrong genre for you anyway. Most of the lyrics are hard to catch anyway outside of the chorus.

    No way. Hard rock and metal are two of the only genres with deep/meaningful lyrics. Just because KISS has nothing to say doesn't mean there aren't some amazing lyricists in the genre. I definitely wouldn't suggest looking to country or rap for anything worth a shit.

    Try Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Metallica, or Megadeth.

    By the way...the OLD stuff from KISS was great...musically. Listen to the bass and guitars. Black Diamond? Please. Great song, even today.

    Yeah, there ya go. Also Rush, Soundgarden, Tool, Alice In Chains, Sabbath, Black Label Society, The Cult, Dragonforce, Killswitch Engage, NIN, Smashing Pumpkins, Guns N Roses, Dio, etc. Even bands like AC/DC and Judas Priest have lyrics that aren't necessarily deep, but they are meaningful and decent for the most part (always exceptions of course). All of those bands aren't technically metal, but I don't consider KISS to be metal either so...

    Most of those bands lyrics can not be understood anyway. I do not listen to metal to hear a compelling story. I listen for the emotions it invokes. KISS does that as good as anyone.

    I do not consider some of those bands to be metal. Several of them are alternative rock.

    I said all of those bands aren't metal. KISS definitely isn't metal.

    I'm not sure why you can't understand lyrics. With the exception of KSE and maybe AC/DC, all of those bands have singers who sing clearly and enunciate really well. But who cares. Rock/hard rock/metal all have something for everyone...probably why it's been been around as long as it has and continues to evolve.
