Pitchers and catchers report in three weeks, thank God. Who will be the fifth starter in April, Lester or Bucholz? I say Lester.

Saw this at the bottom of a Santana article in the globe.

    That absolutely would not suck.

agreesome. for a year, anyway, until Chris Carter is ready. Guy was a beast in the Pacific Coast League but for whatever reason struggled in pawtucket. need a lot of work with his fielding. can fill in in leftfield.

What do you think about the Sox not getting Santana?

    I'm OK with it.

Looks like Theo felt the same way I did in this post.

extremely OK with it, even more so since he's not going to the Yanks. That's the main reason I wanted him: to keep him out of the Bronx.

look at the rotation this year: Beckett, Schilling, Matsuzaka, Wakefield, Lester. Next year, we can assume Buccholz takes schilling's spot and, if Wake is ready to ride off into the sunset, they have players to trade for a fourth or fifth starter, of leftfielder.

Hardly. Theo didn't think like you at all because he actually offered up his best prospect for Santana, the Twins were just idiots and chose to take a far inferior deal. But sure, I said all along that the Red Sox didn't need Santana. They would have had one of the best rotations of all-time if they had acquired him, and he was certainly worth the asking price, but they're the top team in the majors even without him.

Go back and read the posts Collin. You were saying that his value would not deminish until after spring training and that the Sox should basically clean out their farm system just for the rights to offer him a record contract. Of course, you had a few insults thrown in, cause, well that's your style.

Of course you were wrong when it comes to predicting the baseball future too. Which is also fast becoming your baseball style.
