I am not asking for any "special care," as it's clear from pretty much every exchange that we have had in the past that when debating anything with you, I really don't need any help whatsoever.

However, this section of tbr has different rules, and about the worst thing that I have done to break the rules in the forum was to make a joke about the difference Hope and Faith was that Hope swallowed, so I challenge you to find where I am breaking the rules here.

So if you can't abide by the set rules, then have the self control not to post here. It's really not that hard.

There are plenty of people who post in this forum that are as fervently atheistic as you are, but they have the ability to discuss their beliefs instead of attack those of others.

The idea IS for people to speak freely, but with diplomacy. That's why the thread got shit-canned. Everyone started insulting each other just because of differing opinions. The idea is to keep this from becoming Politics.

I view it as a place for discussion, not debate. There is a difference but some folks don't seem to realize that. When "winning" is more important than learning, it just ain't worth it.

But this a subjective expression on your part. I do see myself as discussing. People can be dismissive and snide without outright namecalling, and it has the same exact effect. VP is good at it. I am just bull in a precious little China shop.

The bottom line is this; Religion is a crutch for emotional weakness, and there is just no getting around that. And I got rounds and rounds of ammunition to support it. I don't hijack threads. There IS an ignore button. When people don't want to see, then the truth shown to them pisses them off, whether I call them "ostrich-with-head-in-sand" or not. That human fact is not limited to religion. Maybe one day, some people will reflect inward and uncover why it is exactly that these words anger them. And then they will begin a journey along a path of real discovery, away from their silly superstitions. People live mostly logical lives except for this very important component. And when I hold up a mirror to the ugliness, it is shoot-the-messenger time. So bring it.

Really, I am just proselytizing like the other Christians in here. It entertains me as a background window while I work.

Edit - I would like to address this since you expressly named me.

Asking questions is one obvious way to learn. Another is to play devil's advocate. I think that you may be looking for some hidden meaning in my posts that just isn't there. I am also going to alternate between flip, smartass answers (although I obviously try to tone them down in here) and serious answers that I actually put some thought behind - anyone with any kind of history on tbr would be able to tell you that.

I can think of no time in this forum where I have been snide or dismissive. In general, I am trying to have discussions around my faith and the faith of others unless repeatedly provoked. My responses are my own, and provocation is no excuse, but my patience does have limits. As it relates specifically to you, I think that I have been more than willing to let your provocative, condecending, and agressive posts and postures slide without responding in kind.

You should probably watch Mythbusters before trotting out that description.

You forgot to add "In my opinion". People have a right to believe whatever they choose to. None of us are the decider on who is right.
