It is what we make it and the problems are always the same folks. Take it for what it's worth.

    and some aren't.

The first two people to individually throw crap were both in the other camp.

FWIW, it's not allowed from either side.

And what is wrong with a warzone, for certain posters? I don't attack anyone except the usual suspects. They take it and they give it, and Sly complains about it when he thinks it might benefit him. No big deal. I don't trash Hasbeens because he is one who actually abides by his own rules, not because he is a mod. I couldn't care less who is or isn't a mod. This thread is a good example of that: http://www.thisboardrocks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=132209

You know, limiting speech to nice-nice does nothing specific but limit speech. Aggressive debate is good for everyone as long as it is not one-sided. And it is a wonderful opportunity to learn by the people reading passively as long as there is substance to the communications, which there definitely was in the Skin Color thread.

I really think you guys need to toughen up and allow the sparks to fly. Step in when it becomes abusive to undeserving posters (moderators discretion), but guys like VP and Sly would definitely not qualify for that special care. I am not going to be abusive to someone like Hasbeens, Wordsworth, Articulate Kitten, Big Vito (generally speaking), or other people like that. They abide by the rules rather than just whine and cry when I break them, and I respect that on a face-to-face basis, regardless of the rules.

Doesn't make it right, though you trying to justify everything does work better than the "I'm just trying to anger people" angle.

Not at all. There's nothing you can say against the rules toward your point, that you can't say by sticking to the rules. I don't make those rules. I don't change them.

To be frank, I don't consider you qualified to judge "what is right." You have rules. Not the same thing as "right."

And I am telling you that the rules are not adding anything of value to the Religion forum. I will speak freely. I will also bring substance and an opportunity to learn to many people. You decide if it is worth the price. It ultimately speaks to your ability to handle reality and nothing to do with me that I don't already know.

do people troll in threads where people are just trying to share or learn? i thought that there's been a few such threads where people kept away if they weren't interested.

you need to keep it where it belongs. hijacking a thread to argue religion isn't really what this forum is about.
