My theory on why JPep hasn't been traded

The Panthers are afraid he will get with a team who will get him motivated to rip peoples heads off and crap down their necks, or that when they face him on the field he will decide to show 'em up by wreckin' house!:Reagan-hittin-head-

I sometimes wonder whether he really likes playing football.

No question Peppers has super unbelievable God-given talents to go along with his size,,,,,,,,,,,,, but if it ain't a physical problem, and/or his heart ain't in it,,,,,,,,,,,, theres not much any coach can do.

I'm sorry, theres never a good time for a professional athlete to lay an egg like Peppers did this year, but what bothers me the most is HOW MUCH he disappeared. He was truly a nonfactor in entirely way too many ballgames. I mean who woulda ever thunk of using the word "nonfactor" in the same sentence with the name Peppers? ... that is, before this past season.

Good question. Reminds me of my 6'9" nephew. Everyone thinks he's a basketball player. He hates the game and can't understand why everybody keeps pusing him to play.:bouncer:

    UNC Peppers

When the Panthers drafted him they were taking a gamble because his downside was that he took plays off!:detective:

The upside to signing him to a Freeny deal is that he may return to form and be a 10 to 12 sack per year guy who is good in run support and at the same time will take over one or two games per year and make some spectacular plays. Bear in mind that he is going to eat up a good chunk of cap space and limit our ability to build around him. When it is time to ink Thomas Davis or Jon Beason to long term deals it will be harder.

The downside is that he may play the rest of his career like he did last season. In that scenerio he will not even be starting for all that much longer. Still eats up cap space.

IMHO, we have a lot more to lose than we do to gain by giving him a Freeny deal.

How about loading his contract with incentives and not so much guaranteed monies.
