    Anybody do this?

    How does this work?

    Something like this.

How do I make check deposits? I can't do direct deposit - too many sources.

    How can I get 'cash'?

ING is what a friend uses. He has a local account for getting his money in and out of the account. I think you can mail deposits to them too.

He gets 4.5% interest on his money at ING. Online bill pay, etc.

I use HSBC Direct. It's good for money you don't have to mess with very often.

You just link it to a normal account and there is no charge to transfer money into the online account. However, there is usually a charge to transfer back. But, I got a ATM card also but since there is no HSBC around me I never even activated it.

It's like 3 bucks or something. About the same as getting money from another bank's ATM.

I don't do that either.....I'd need to move money monthly.

Is there any type of savings account / money market account that does not cost money for transactions?

Doubt it. If there was it probably wasn't around that long with that business model. Of course, I could be wrong.
