It's still the right way to defend them. The emergence of Burress has made it much harder, though. They're not doing anything real elaborate in the passing game. It's pretty much Plaxico using his body to get position and Eli thowing him the football.

Their recent success makes me wonder if Shockey is really worth the headache.

well, they're getting better blocking now, but an additional option's never an awful thing.

And yeah, Plax is pretty much running curls and slants. Very basic stuff.

They are probably better off without Shockey, Boss certainly has filled in well. I still think Tiki was out of line the way he slammed Eli. Once Tiki was gone and no longer undermining Eli he stepped up and took them to the superbowl.

No, Eli didn't take anyone anywhere. He hasn't even had an above average statistical performance yet in the playoffs. Moreover, what Tiki said was perfectly in line and also accurate. The problem is that you are a complete moron who knows absolutely nothing and yet posts compulsively anyway.

Eli has a quarterback rating of 99.1 in the playoffs, second only to Brady.

    Average is usually about 80.

Not saying he's better because Tiki was gone. He was not playing at this level for most of the regular season. But he clearly has played above average.

Statistically, the Giants run game obtained roughly the same number of yards as they did last year, about 2100. The passing game was only slightly more productive. The only difference in the playoffs is the lack of turnovers.

Team chemistry is very important. The Giants have been one of the more talented teams for several years now. Tiki retiring probably did a lot for team chemistry. That sort of thing does not show on a stat sheet but it is very important.
