Reid was the one to get caught of course, Paulus threw the blow going for the rebound, just "happened" to catch him the face.

it was a double technical. the way i saw it, reid was going for the ball and missed. paulus went nuts and started kicking someone. i've got to watch the tivo.

fsu was up by 1 with 3:30 to play.

then duke goes on a 16-2 run.

    that #30 guy is good.

Paulus decided to show up with about 4 minutes to go and started playing well. He got hit incidentally by Swann and accidentally kicked someone when he was flailing. It looked a lot worse on Reid from the above angle. He just went for the ball and missed. I think it was Swann who got in their first. Scheyer played well and Singler was clutch. Lance Thomas better get his crap together because Duke needs a big man who at least can play D. I still don't know why Taylor King didn't play towards the end of the game. When he is out there Duke is a much better team and he can bang a little on the inside. Good win, and a huge game coming up this weekend vs. Clemson.

The later angle was the best one. Paulus got popped by a different FSU player than Reid after the whistle. That is when he started pushing people away with his feet. I really didn't think what Reid did was that bad. The early pop is what gave paulus the bloody lip, not Reid.

Yeah when I watched it in live action, it looked like Reid threw a punch. In the second angle, it looked like he took a large downward swipe at the ball trying to knock it loose. Paulus got smacked in the face by someone else earlier.

The main problem I had with the play (and I only saw it once with sound) was that Reid seemed to come in there after the whistle had blown. But, I also think he was reacting to getting smacked in the mask while going for the rebound. I think it was a tough, physical play and the technical was whistled because Reid came in there late and was kind of reckless.

Good game, Scheyer is really coming into his own. I'd like to see Henderson and Nelson be able to take their guys off the dribble more, that would really help this team. Perhaps that will happen against a less athletic team. We're going to struggle if we try and run with North Carolina, although GT did pretty well with it last night.
