the forth installment of mcmurtry's saga. so far it is matching the book story wise but the actors are trying to hard in their larger than life characters.

duvall claims augustus mccrae was his hamlet. he was believable, so far steve zahn and val kilmer and karl urban are charicatures and not real believable.

lonesome dove was AWSOME, streets of laredo was very good, this has been lame. i hope it picks up.

I haven't seen any of it or read the book, so I'm enjoying it. There's nothing else on.

zahn does a decent job of acting like robert duvall.

the parrot scene was supposed to be a halucination of a spirit. there is a long back story that would make that scene make sense.

bottom line is this falls way short of lonesome dove.

I have it on my TIVO but have not watched any of it yet. The original was great but I have not really watched the sequels.

it's almost as if they were setting it up for a sequel. how hard would it have been for them to have Mcrae and Call hunt down and kill Blue Duck, have them return to austin and have call make some sort of decision about his kid.
