tonight, the Seminoles have the chance to become only the fourth team to win three consecutive games against Duke in the past 10 years.

A phantom technical foul against Alexander Johnson helped the Blue Devils escape with a controversial 97-96 overtime victory Feb. 4, 2006. Officials Ed Corbett, Ray Natili and Mike Eades were suspended for a game by the ACC.

The premature celebration by FSU students with 1.7 seconds remaining led to a technical foul against the Seminoles in the rematch. Al Thornton made sure the celebration resumed by making a pair of free throws in the 79-74 victory March 1, 2006.

The drama and technical fouls have kept on coming. FSU coach Leonard Hamilton was whistled for a late technical foul last season in Durham, N.C. But Josh McRoberts and DeMarcus Nelson missed before the buzzer as the Seminoles hung on for a historic 68-67 triumph Feb. 4, 2007.

Funny, it seems like FSU owns us a lot harder than that. I remember feeling like dook didn't have the athletes to hang with FSU.

I don't feel like that anymore.

fsu has no big men -- for a variety of reasons. i think one was in the test cheating thing. one broke his leg. one has an irregular heartbeat. one transferred because he didn't want to play the 4 spot.

it's a bunch of guards. if a coupe of them get hot, fsu can be competitive. if not...oops.

they're the best free-throw shooting team in the country. that's partly because it's a bunch of guards shooting free throws. no big men to get fouled.

    sounds right to me, too.

fsu is tired from that 2OT game at duke. PG played 49 minutes.

    i'll take the under, though.
