Dude is still playing well according to the stats. I haven't seen a Bobcats game all year, so I couldn't tell you why he's doing well, but if he can average around 10 & 8 in the remaining seasons of his contract then I (and most everyone else) would be wrong about the trade. It certainly looks good for the 'Cats so far.

I still think it would be funny if the team left Charlotte, but at least the Hornets are about to abandon New Orleans.

well, somebody up there said that basically mohammed was buried on the depth chart. just because you don't play doesn't mean you aren't good. (fucking excellent triple negative there). not like detroit is some pushover.

Except that Mohammad hadn't been "good" since '04-'05 with the Knicks. Plus I don't see him sitting behind Jason Maxiel unless they really thought he wasn't worth a crap.

He got stuck behind McDyess who's a rather talented player and Maxiel who's more of a "future" guy.

McDyess is decent, sure, but he's never been anything close to the same player he was before his knee injury. Plus Detroit is playing two power forwards. I just have a hard time believing that they wouldn't have preferred Mohammad as a true center if he was good enough to play for them, but maybe he was a bad fit for the system, I have no idea. Whatever the case, he sucked ass before but seems to be kicking it now.

I like how you know every Jew who has ever played anything. That's dedication right there.

yeah, i don't totally understand what they thought they were getting.

his performance for them per minute was pretty much what he provided san antonio. i suspect it's a bit of just how things go -- the market for bigs is sometimes pretty thin so if you need one, you gotta pay what you gotta pay. maxiel playing well and webber signing on probably made him a bit superfluous and i guess this year they just figured they'd cut bait. he makes too much money to be a 10 mpg player.

    edit:
the next question with him will be durability. how many minutes can he log before he starts to break down a bit. he's got a short season this time around, so that's in his favor. i don't know he's got any history of injuries, but he's no spring chicken (tho again, he's not logged heavy minutes for a few years now). we'll see.

Now we're seeing the Mohammed I expected. More concerning for Bobcats fans than the drop in points is the absence of rebounds. I imagine that someone who actually watches the games might be able to explain that.
