You're looking at the wrong Arizona receiver. Bryant Johnson would be a good compliment to Smitty. He's a former first round pick that hasn't been given a fair shot to emerge. He's behind Boldin and Fitz. When he has been able to start he's show a lot of promise. He also has good size, 6'3, 213. Even better, he's a FA.

Fitzgerald is simply a lot better than Bryant and would absolutely be worth a 2nd rounder. A 1st would be tough to swallow because we're young at WR and can use upgrades at other positions. Of course he'd fit in with Smith. I don't think we need to worry about Smith getting pissed off. He'd still be the 1st option.

if you've got fitz and smith, you've also got a 3-year window do win a super bowl.

    minimum requirements:

    year 1 - 10 wins and a playoff win
year 2 - nfc title game
year 3 - super bowl win

    no?

Chad Johnson was only going to fetch a 3rd. Randy Moss went for a 4th.

Fitzgerald is 24, Johnson is 29. I doubt very much that Johnson could've been had for a third rounder after his fourth year in the league. Fitzgerald's stats for his first four years in the league blow away Johnson's. and Fitzgerald comes with no baggage. Moss went for a fourth because of his checkered past and those two shitty seasons in Oakland. He doesn't even belong in the conversation.

Fitzgerald would be nice, but we have so many needs....

Hate to say it, but if this team does have another Super Bowl window in the near future,,,,,,, as of this moment it is shut tightly,, and I'm afraid the current coaching staff don't know how to open it back up.
