Anyway, this is EXACTLY why I bought my 360 at Costco. Lifetime return policy is the only way to touch a 360, unfortunately.

 

they all have a lifetime warranty as far as Im concerned. Ill give microsoft a chance to fix it the right way. If they dont, I got to wally world and buy another, put old crappy one in box and get money back.
I havent had any problems with mine (knock on wood) but my brother has had 2 break.

 

Walmart doesn't scan the barcode? Or are you switching the cases?

Regardless, I <3 Costco and their liberal return policy. If I have to return mine, I'll get the two free pack-in games plus a return of the price difference. Buying electronics at Costco is great, wish their selection of TVs was better though.

havent had to do it since I bought the 360. Did it 2 times with the old one. ms said I tampered with it because one of the rubber feet came off the bottom and would not fix it.

my six month old 360 died a week before christmas. talk about timing. i babyed that fucker like a newborn.

i had the 2 year return policy from best buy, but they stayed out of stock. they finally had elites in stock so i got me one of them.

the fucked up part is it wouldn't let me recover my gamer tag. so i go thur the whole drawn-out ordeal registering a new one and every time it would stop during the final loading screen and say something about it cant complete the process.

 

because xbox live was fubar'd for the last two weeks. Amazing that a giant corporation like MS couldn't anticipate the added strain on the service caused by people on vacation and all the new consoles bought for christmas. They're giving every gold subscriber a free game as "compensation"

Same thing happened to mine. When I called Microsoft, the first thing they asked was which quadrants the red lights were in. When I told them, they didn't ask any further questions, and over-nighted a box to me for return. Sent mine back and they mailed out a new one. Took a little over a week I think.
