I am very staisfied with mine.

Adjust the settings out of the box though. Everything will probably be at 100.

HH, do you know of a site that has the best settings for different TVs? I'm sure I could Google but you seem to know this stuff so I thought I'd ask.

Check for a thread about your particular model on AVS forums, or use a calibration disc (you can rent them from netflix or blockbuster).

Yes, I have the previous generation 1080p model. It's similar to the current "167" models (not "67" - I believe those are the 768p sets), but the feature set is actually better on mine, except for mine only allows 1080i/60 input and can't take a 1080p/24 feed.

What I liked best about it was that my A2's remote worked on it right out of the box. I am apparently too lazy to program a remote.

Skip all that and go for a CRT. Can't beat it with a stick.

Hard to beat that 50" Samsung 5054 plasma for $1260 at Amazon right now(total, shipping/tax/etc.) for an all-around winner. Formerly it was the Panasonic 50" at costco for $1600, simply because of the Costco warranty/return process (even for TV's, which they limit their normal lifetime no questions asked return policy on, it ROCKS).

    Done.

every time i go to a friend's house with a nice tv, i'm always underwhelmed. everything looks like crap until they find one of the hd channels, and then it look great. my problem is that it seems the hd to sd ratio is something like 1 hd channel for every 10 standard def channels. until there's more hd content out there, i'm gonna stick with my trusty old sony 32" xbr2.

I'm loving it too. Looks great on HD and still really good on SD. Can't beat the size to dollar ratio either.
