It's obvious that if we had a playoff, USC would have won it. There is no excuse for losing to Stanford but right now they are heads and shoulders better than anyone else IMO.

They are a very good football team with a very good front 7 on defense, a strong running game, and a good college quarterback.

But I thought the Illini were exposed as frauds more than USC looking that good, just like Hawaii is right now. They gave up 40 to Missouri, lost to Iowa (a 6-6 team), and were dominated by Michigan. They simply are not in the class of USC, or any of the other BCS teams save Hawaii. That USC blew them out in the confines of their home field of the Rose Bowl is unsuprising.

USC struggled this year in their back end defense, and bigger, stronger defensive teams that can slow down their run game would give them trouble because their wide recievers have underachieved. Not saying they could not beat LSU or OSU on a nuetral site, but I don't think they would be favorites.

A playoff system may offset some losses caused by early season injuries. USC looked damn good but also rather cocky. I can't decide whether to like them or hate them. They gonna be preseason Number 1 next season?

I agree but I've decided that I don't like them. They will be #1 provided their is not a mass exodus by underclassmen to the NFL. How does that team lose to Stanford? Any given Saturday......

USC should have been matched up against either Georgia or Oklahoma. Playing Illinois was a mismatch and everyone knew it before the game was even played. We (the fans) were let down by not seeing a better game.

Have to chalk this one up to the Rose Bowl officials who thought having a traditional Rose Bowl with Pac-10 vs Big 10 was the best thing ever. They could have taken Georgia and had a much better game but they chose $$$ over competition.

Some dumbass coordinator at Ohio State might want to learn how to stop the option this off-season too. No win vs. OSU - none of this ever happens.

That's true. Don't you think those Dawg fans would have had a time in Pasadena?
