Peppers family is here and he went to a NC school. His ties are here. He may go, but the whole "he WANTS to go" is rumor pure & simple.

Those ties are also why he's our most marketed player, despite being a private player and not overtly charasmatic or quotable player. This matters.

If you want to be paid the highest contract ever for a defensive player then you do not put up a dud in your contract year. I can see paying him well but not a cap killing mother load. Even when he is playing his best he is inconsistent. He is nowhere near as effective as guys like Reggie White or Lawrence Taylor were in their primes.

Who knows if he will play hard after he does get a big contract. This is the biggest issue facing our team this year. We can get it wrong with Gross and Wharton and still be ok in a year or two but overpaying Peppers will drag us down for years and years if he does not play better than he did this year.

Will you please stop saying this? It was not his contract year, you fucking retard. How many times does someone have to tell you that?
You are completely wrong. In fact, if someone else posted this, I would probably assume that you had somehow logged into their account because you're one of the few people stupid enough to say this and believe it. Peppers absolutely dominated teams through the first half of last season. There was nothing whatsoever inconsistent about his performance.

Speaking of inconsistent this fantasy football like thread has made my head hurt. You want to see whats wrong with Peppers this year? Go back and watch the games look how our dumb ass coaching staff used him. Drop a 6-6 DE back into coverage about 20% of the time and only bring a three man rush and wonder why we suck ass on D add the fact your corners are playing 15 yards off of bottom feeding receivers like Roddy White. IMO pay Peppers and fire Mike Trgovac

I agree that Peppers has been used in coverage too much. He still had plenty of chances to rush the passer this year and did not get much done. He has made big plays in coverage in the past but that was missing this year too.

I have no idea what was wrong with him this year. He has been used the same way the whole time he has been here. You can not blame the coaching staff for his bad season.

Actually I can blame the coaching staff, they do not play to Peppers strengths. They are not 100% to blame but the way they chose to use Peppers most defiantly hurt his productivity this year.

They didn't help, obviously, but the dude just sucked this year. I'm hoping he did have mono or something because the alternative is scarier. Maybe Crossman gave him the AIDS.
