Nice win for the Deacs. A little slow the first half but they got it cranked up in the 2nd. UConn was co-champ of the Big Least?

I hate when people say they are the co-champs of the Big East. They aren't. They lost the tiebreaker to West Virginia which puts them in second place. If there is a tie for first place in the division in the NBA but one beats the other one more during the season and gets the #1 seed in the playoffs and the other got the #4 seed you wouldn't say the #4 seed was a co-champ. That's like saying Georgia was a Co-Champ of the SEC East despite losing to Tennessee and not representing the East in the SEC Title Game. The UCONN Huskies aren't big East champs, they got a Big East Championship ring for coming in second place

"You have that pit in your stomach right now because you didn't win," coach Randy Edsall said. "But what these guys did for this year for this program, to get nine wins, to be [Big East] co-champs, be ranked for the first time in school history, they accomplished a lot."

I think they are. Back before the ACC had a championship game, if two teams tied then I believe they were called co-champs, but the tie-breaker was used to determine who went to the Orange Bowl.

I'm pretty sure the Pac 10 still does it this way too.

App. State was the co-champs with Wofford in the Southern Conference, though Wofford got the automatic bid to the playoffs (due to winning head-to-head).
