Yeah, the So Con needs another lackey to pair with Chattanooga.

Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, and West Georgia (Div. II - they suck right now, but were playing in a championship game in the second or third year) are good examples of building quickly and acheiving success quickly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Charlotte doesn't have the exclusive recruiting markets those schools had.

Honestly, I'd love SoCon, but they won't accept us (at least that is the rumor) as a football only member.

I would like CAA as well. Anything with lots of games in driving distance.

Well, it makes sense to go to the A-10 since they're current members - and the CAA would be a step down for UNCC in all other sports. SoCon wouldnt be a bad fit.

If the powers that be at Charlotte had any sense whatsoever they'd jump at the chance to join the Southern Conference in all sports.

Judging by the fairly poor to average support the basketball team gets this looks like money thrown away imo. Unless they have some rich boosters ready to foot most of the bill.

Yeah, a one bid league in basketball is really appealing!

When was the last time the SoCon had an at-large bid?

    Oh that's right, never.
