Quaterback doctor who has garnered immediate high interest froma 4 star QB who just backed out of GT.

Paul Johnson was my first choice but I like Cutliffe and think he brings immediate upgrade to the type of athlete duke can recruit at least on offense.

The guy made the Manning brothers. Any QB has to respect that.

Look what he did with Ainge. Ainge sucked...Cutcliffe came back and turned him into one of the top QB's in the SEC. Great hire.

That's not what they say. Think I will take their word for it.

Of course, he also had Heath Shuler and Ainge and won a championship with Tee Martin for God's sake.

I'm not saying he isn't a great hire for Duke. He is. But the Mannings are exceptional because they were born that way. Still, it will be very interesting to see if he's able to get their recruiting up to even a low-level ACC standard.

And a really really lucky fumble at Arkansas.

You need a little luck occasionally and Tee Martin was hell in college. He was also the MVP of NFL Europe and lasted quite a few years in the NFL as a back-up.

Eli's decent, but he's far from exceptional

He was a very good college quarterback and now average or so in the NFL. The average player's odds of doing that are pretty remote.
