I think we need a VP of Personnel or something along those lines.

    Yes.

However, Fox also needs to start being more cut-throat. It's not as if we can't find good young talent (Jarred Bush, Tony Brown, Jovan Haye, etc.), but we end up losing these guys because of Fox's commitment to old hags like Karl Hankton and Al Wallace.

Those guys still would not be starting if we had kept them.

I could see Tony Brown starting by now, or at least giving us some pressure up the middle. He would, at the least, be good depth, along with Haye and Bush.

Don't tease meat. I doubt he'd come back (though he certainly has ties to Fox), but that could be fun!

    Wanna make changes? Start here:

    Don Gregory (Dir. College Scouting)
    Mark Koncz (Dir. Pro Scouting)

Tony Softli was the college scouting guy, before he went to STL to become something like Dir. of Player Personnel.

    From the STL site:
    http://www.stlouisrams.com/article/54223/

"The Panthers’ drafts in the last six seasons have been among the most productive in the NFL. Under Softli’s supervision the Panthers have acquired such Pro Bowl players as Julius Peppers, Steve Smith, Dan Morgan, Kris Jenkins and many others who have contributed to Carolina’s success in this decade." Softli should also be credited for Richard Marshall and DeAngelo Willianms, since that was his final draft with the Panthers in April, 2006.

Granted, we have seen 1 draft with this crew, but the evaluation of David Carr turned into a wretched move. Beason (as a rookie), has been wonderful, but Jarrett? Robinson?

I don't have the answers, but the Panthers don't have the horses these days either. It's not all Hurney/Fox.
