I know a couple of people who personally offered up $2 mil to the athletic dept. to dump him last year. Don't be fooled. With large increases in ticket prices next year, a ton of returning talent, and a fan base that has a love/hate relationship with him already, he'd better win. Clemson can afford to dump anyone anytime if they don't win. Whether or not they will is another story.

Great decision. It's alot easier to win in the ACC than it is the SEC.

Bowden is no idiot, he's been to Arkansas. Klempson is not a mecca for culture and class but I gotta hand it to the Tiger fans, they are passionate. Klempson is a good place to coach but I think the problem with Tiger Nation is that they tend to sometimes over estimate their football recruiting classes. They go a lot of good players but they have had a few holes the last several years that have hurt them. That dropped pass late in the BC game, it was by a Freshman. IMO, that's more likely to happen with a Freshman than not. I'd take Klempson over Fayetteville, Arkansas any day and so would just about anyone else, my God it's in ARKANSAS!!!

You are right. I even remember Kelly as a high school prospect and for whatever reason thought he was a freshman, I guess the years are flying too fast. I do think that Klempson does have some problems in the clutch. The BC game last year was due to some missed kicks, the drop this year cost them. Sometimes a team beats themselves and the Tigers have done that a few times in the past several years. I can understand how the fans are frustrated but to be honest I think the best team in the ACC won the Championship this year.

Arkansas would be trading Houston Nutt for Houston Nutt in terms of wins. Less drama though.

Everyone bashes on tommy bowden, and I'm not saying I would be heartbroken if he left, but I'm glad that he's staying. I think that he is consistently good....and if you are consistently good, great isn't that far away.

Nyt said that now it looks like Arkansas is going to get Jim Grobe from Wake Forest. Don't know how I feel about that yet.

Tommy Bowden has a way of creating drama too, and not only by his losses.
